There’s nothing quite like scoring a decent bargain on a Nintendo Switch console, especially coming into the school holidays when there’s so much free time to be had.

Which Nintendo Switch should I buy?

There are three different types of Nintendo Switch, all of which share the same basic design and use the same software and games. However, the upgraded model, the Switch OLED, seems to be the number one device on everyone’s wishlist.

No matter which Nintendo Switch you choose, you should be able to play the vast majority of current or future Switch games. The only problem is that the Switch Lite is handheld-only and is not capable of playing games designed for motion gameplay using individual Joy-Cons. The standard Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED can play all Switch games, both in handheld and TV modes.

The main difference between these two models is that the OLED’s screen is clearer, stronger and has better contrast. It also boasts clearer, louder speakers with a proper stand that works very well, and a dock that supports wired network connections.

The only caveat? You’ll be paying a pretty penny for the brand new features. Which is why there’s never been a better time to jump on these discounts. After all, you probably won’t see savings like this again until Boxing Day 2023!
