How to choose a heater for your baby’s nursery

Room size

Consider the area you need to heat and factor in what else you can do to help keep the nursery warmer, for example, draft excluders. More powerful heaters will push out heat to the further reaches of the room, and that power usually costs more money.

Location, location

How long will you use the heater for? If you’re in one of the colder states or territories, you might want to invest in a durable heater that’s going to not only heat your child’s room well but that’s also going to last for a good few years.

Portable or set in place

Think about if you’ll want to move your heater from room to room, or to different areas within a larger nursery. For bigger spaces, you might want to choose a more powerful heater that you don’t need to move around.

Timers and wifi

Timers are super helpful for busy parents as you can set and forget this one job so your child’s room is cosy and warm when they’re ready to settled in to bed, as well making the room comfortable to get ready in, in the morning. Wifi access from a remote control or app on your phone is a no brainer for many families.

Safety first

Many heaters – and all of them in our list – have safety features as standard, which may include a tilt switch in case the get nudged or knocked, over-heating protection and more.
