When single mum Stephanie Hansen was a new mum the last thing on her mind was falling pregnant again. Daphne was born in January 2020 and her mum Stephanie was no longer with the dad. Entering a new relationship, the 32-year-old didn’t started using birth control, even though she didn’t think she could fall pregnant so soon.
Surprise! What Daphne was just 15 weeks old, the mum from Washington state in the US, found that not only was she pregnant, but she was expecting twins. 2020 was shaping up to be quite a year!
“There was definitely some initial sadness.”
In an interview with Today, the now mum-of-three talked about feeling anxious and guilty at falling pregnant again so soon after the birth of her first daughter.
“I felt awful that she wouldn’t have one-on-one time with me anymore,” she confessed.
Gorgeous twin girls, Penelope and Rubie were born in December of the same year, meaning supermum Stephanie had three babies under one. The trio are now two years old and 15 months old, and the proud mum says they are inseperable.
“They are the Three Musketeers,” Hansen told Today. “They’re on the same schedule. They eat, bathe and play together. They share a room.”
Stephanie is no longer with the twins’ father and in the open, honest and funny TikToks she shares, you witness the realities of the “chaos” of being a sole parent.
“When we broke up I was devastated, but I said to myself, ‘I’ve got this. We’re not going to sit around in our pajamas crying,’” she stated. “You can sink or swim.’”
The twins’ dad is still on the scene to help out from time and time, and while Stephanie wasn’t expecting her twins, she couldn’t be happier with her life choices.
“I am the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life,” she declared. “These kids are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
“These kids are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
