Natalie Imbruglia opens up about motherhood at 45 and how her son has made her life complete
The singer gave birth last year with the help of IVF and a sperm donor.
Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia became a first-time mum last year and in a revealing new interview she says motherhood has “filled a void in her life”.
In an interview with Baby magazine Natalie speaks from the heart saying that prior to the arrival of her son although she was happy and proud of her life achievements, she felt she was missing out on the joy of being a mum.
“I’m used to pushing the laws of probability in terms of what I’ve done in life. I’ve always managed to do things that are unlikely or improbable,” she said.
“Looking back I had lovely friends, had been married, a beautiful home and a career that I was proud of.
“But I’d long been at the point where I knew something was missing and that thing became something I yearned for above anything else.”
The Torn singer gave birth to her son, Max in October last year. She has said previously that her pregnancy was made possible via IVF and a sperm donor.
Announcing her pregnancy news to her fans last year, the former Neighbours star wrote: “No I haven’t swallowed a watermelon. I’m expecting my first child this Autumn. For those of you that know me, this has been something I have wanted for a very long time and I’m blessed that this is possible with the help of IVF and a sperm donor – I won’t be saying anything more on that publicly.”
Natalie Imbruglia shared the news of her pregnancy to fans in May, 2019.
Natalie was most recently romantically linked to photographer Matt Field, however has dated a slew of celebs including David Schwimmer, Lenny Kravitz, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and of course, was married to Daniel Johns from Silverchair from 2003 to 2008.
