A breastfeeding mum was secretly filmed and then publicly shamed – by another mum!

A new mum has clapped back after she was secretly filmed breastfeeding her baby at the beach and publicly shamed in a Facebook mother’s group.
Izabele Lomax, 24, didn’t realise a stranger was taking video of her breastfeeding her 9-week-old son, Baker, while sitting under a beach umbrella, until she was scrolling her socials and saw a viral post about it.
Izabele says she was on one of her mum groups on Facebook when she saw a post shaming women for breastfeeding in public. Taking a closer look, she realised it was her in video shared with the post.
In the now-deleted Facebook post, Izabele appears topless, breastfeeding her baby.
The post read: “I’m not shaming woman who breast feed their babies. I’m shaming the woman who breast feed in public with no respect to cover themselves up and just let their boobs hangout (nipple included) for everyone to see! COVER TF UP !!!” the caption on the post read. “I shouldn’t have to cover my son’s eyes and explain why your boobs are out, and quite frankly I don’t want to see it either. Have some respect!”
The idea that breastfeeding should be taboo is beyond outdated and the violation, to be secretly filmed and then publicly shamed, is awful.
Taking back her power with dignity and grace, Izabele Lomax served up the ultimate take-down response on TikTok.
“Imagine waking up, getting on Facebook, and seeing this video of yourself yesterday at the beach,” she begins.
“Not only did this woman walk past me multiple times with her son, you had every opportunity in the world to say something to me. Not that I would have cared or stopped what I was doing, but you instead choose to post a video of me and my child on Facebook, publicly for the world to see.”
To those who say she should be covered up when breastfeeding, Izabele, said: “What if you were told that the only way that you could eat at the beach is if you were covered up by a towel?”
Izabele also condemned the mother for “sexualising a breast” to her own child, a four-year-old.
“Also, let it be known that her son is literally four years old. If you are sexualising a breast to a four-year-old, you’ve got your own set of issues,” she claps.
“This post has since been deleted, but thank you to all the people who came to my defence in the comments.
“My child was also hungry in multiple restaurants and while we were walking down the street, and guess what? He ate. Next time you see a mum breastfeeding in public, covered up or not, tell her how good of a job she’s doing,” she concluded.
Oh, and stop stop filming people without their consent!
People in the comments were quick to offer their words of support for new mum and her clap back.

“YES, GIRL! Feed your baby any way you choose. You are doing AMAZING,” added another.
“I nurse publicly and have for eight months now and this is my worst nightmare. I can’t imagine how you felt, I’m so sorry,” sympathised another mum.
