New mum, Martha Kalifatidis and 8-week-old Lucius are both unwell with COVID 19.

In her earlier story, filmed while the doting new mum snuggled her sweet baby boy as Michael made a chicken soup, Martha revealed that she had been unwell. You can watch that video above.

“OK guys so I am sick,” Martha announced as she bounced little Lucius. “I have a shocking headache, I have a sore throat, my body is aching. It’s not COVID, but it feels like that.”

Her complaints were quickly distracted as she held Lucius’ face closer to the camera, exclaiming: “Can you look at this cute boy, oh God!” before kissing his little head numerous times.

Martha and 8-week-old Lucius recuperate as they are struck down by the virus.

“He’s basically going to be a supermodel!”

As Michael chopped and prepped in the kitchen, Martha shared the news of baby Lucius’ latest health check.

“He’s good though,” she reassured fans. “He went to his appointment today, his eight week check up with his dad today and he’s tracking in the fifth percentile for his weight!”

Proud dad Michael interrupted, sharing: “But he’s gaining consistently so it’s OK!”

“But he’s tall, so he’s basically going to be a supermodel!” Martha laughed as Michael shared: “He’s long and lean at the moment!”

Michael prepared his mother’s chicken soup recipe for his unwell fiancé.

As Michael continued to cook, Martha shared that he was “making some chicken soup for us.”

The recipe has fond memories for the pair as it was the dish that Michael prepared for Martha in the early days of her pregnancy when she suffered from sever morning sickness – hyperemesis gravidarum.

“This is what we made when Martha got pregnant in Athens when she was super sick and the only thing she could eat was my mum’s recipe,” Michael explained.

Martha laughed as she shared that Michael was: “running around Athens in 40 degree heat trying to find a chicken to make me broth!”

The video ended with Martha assuring fans that she was good and, as many new parents would relate to, they had: “so much work to do that we’re not doing!”

Just a few hours later the Married At First Sight alum, revealed the shock news that both she and baby Lucius had tested positive to Coronavirus.

The soup making is not the first time Michael has proven to be a helpful partner. Two weeks ago the new dad helped Martha with a common new mum problem when she suffered a blocked milk duct.

Four weeks into the breastfeeding journey, the 34yo pleaded with fiancé Michael Brunelli to help her get relief and fortunately for us, the pair shared the hilarious moment via a video shared to Instagram! You can watch it below.

“You’ve got to breathe through your nose. It’s like giving a b***job!”

A clogged milk duct, also called a blocked duct or a plugged duct, occurs when the milk flow out of your breast has been obstructed in a certain place. They are very painful and it’s essential to push through that pain to try to clear the blockage, as a blocked duct and can lead to mastitis if it’s not cleared quickly.

In Martha’s video, which was posted to Instagram on Thursday night, her Married at First Sight husband, Michael showed no hesitation in offering his services to help a new mamma out when asked to assist.

Although he was a little slow to get going …

“You have got to suck harder than that. The baby sucks harder than that!”

Despite 34yo Michael’s best efforts, he simply wasn’t sucking hard enough initially to clear the blockage.

‘”You have got to suck harder than that. The baby sucks harder than that. It’s not one constant, it has to be, like, sucking,” instructs Martha.

“How do I suck it harder than that? I got no strength in my suck,” a flustered Michael responds.

Eventually the team find success: “Omg I can feel it empty!”

Giggling like crazy, Martha further instructs Michael to breathe through his nose: “It’s like giving a b***job, you’ve really got to focus on the breathing more than any part of it!”

Fortunately for Martha’s sore boobs, it wasn’t long before she exclaimed: “Babe I think we’ve done it!”

Martha and Michael welcomed adorable son, Lucius at the end of February, 2023.

“Love the raw honesty of this!”

Fans of the reality television stars were quick to jump in and respond to the very relatable video, many voicing their praises for Michael.

“Omg! Now that’s a real man! There is no way my husband would of done that!” shared one commenter while another quipped: “Omg whattt, my husband wouldn’t even try my breast milk from a glass!”

“You’ve reached a whole new level of relationship goals right here,” noted one praising fan, and another stated simply that they: “Love the raw honesty of this!”

However despite their original success, the pair soon found themselves in hospital when it was discovered that Martha actually had “two breast abscesses”.

Breast abscess is a painful infection in the breast tissue, mainly impacting women who are breastfeeding.

In a photo of Martha sitting in a hospital bed, Michael wrote: “Turns out Marty has two breast abscesses.”

“Thought we’d be a few hours, turns out we’re staying overnight,” Michael wrote in an update to fans.
