"I have the biological clock ticking"

A year after falling in love on The Bachelor, Irena Srbinovska and Locky Gilbert are setting their sights on a new relationship milestone – starting a family.
Locky and Irena, both 32, have been refreshingly candid about their pregnancy journey, with the nurse previously opening up about a miscarriage she suffered last year.
But the couple are now focused on their future in Perth together, and can’t wait to have kids.
“I am so clucky. Already! I can’t wait to be a mum. It’s something I’ve always looked forward to. And I can’t wait to see Locky as a dad, he’s a little clucky too,” Irena told her 111,000 Instagram followers during a Q&A.
“Having the miscarriage last year was upsetting. Since then I’ve seen a specialist and got all the tests done so hopefully we won’t have any issues. I know I have the biological clock ticking (it’s something that I am very aware of) but I am hopeful that a baby or two is in the near future.
“But not too near. I just got back to work and can’t go straight to maternity leave.”
After a miscarriage last year, Irena says she is “so clucky”.
Irena recently returned to her fulltime job as a nurse after taking the last year off to travel around Australia’s west coast with Locky.
The former reality star went on to open up about her heartbreaking miscarriage last December.
“I was sick for a while and put it down to stress from moving to Perth and my dad being unwell. Unknowingly I was pregnant the whole time,” she explained.
“I ended up in hospital twice and it was hard going through it with only Locky to support me. [He was my rock,] he cared for me, looked after me and helped me through it.”
Irena received the final rose in Locky Gilbert’s 2020 season of The Bachelor.
Irena went on to cite statistics that one in five pregnancies end up in a miscarriage, saying it’s “more common than most of us realise”.
“So whilst I have been relatively open about my experience, many women suffer in silence. I think we need to break the stigma and the pressure on women,” she continued.
Elsewhere during the Q&A, she also revealed to her fans that marriage is “definitely” on the cards for her and Locky.
“I have found the person that makes me the happiest, supports me, loves me unconditionally and completes my life. I can’t wait to be Mrs Gilbert,” she shared.
