The influencer tragically lost her unborn son at 30 weeks pregnant

Last month Gold Coast influencer and entrepreneur, Emilee Hembrow tragically lost her unborn baby at 30 weeks pregnant.

On Monday, the 28-year-old mum shared a heartbreaking image of her sitting in her hospital bed cradling her unborn son, Jamal.

“Looking at this photo is really surreal to me. The pain comes & goes, I keep reminding myself this verse “The greater the hardship, the greater the reward, remain patient and know that God test only those whom he loves,” Emilee begins the post.

“I remember the doctor asking me if I wanted to hold him on my chest once I had delivered him. Initially I said no, I couldn’t comprehend the whole situation. I was physically and emotionally numb. I didn’t think I was strong enough to hold him, see him, touch him and then have to let go of my baby and give him back,” she wrote.

Emilee ended the post saying she will always cherish the moments she spent holding her son.

“I had a nurse in the room with me and she told me that she had gone through the exact thing I was going through. She said if I didn’t hold him and embrace my baby it would be the biggest regret I would have, all I can say is wow she was right. Holding baby jamal, admiring his face, feeling his skin was the most precious moments that I will cherish for the rest of my life.”

Emilee’s post received an outpouring of love and support from her 1.1 million followers.

Mummy blogger Mel Watts wrote: “Your strength to share your most raw, heart breaking moment in life will help so many women out there. You’re brave, you’re strong and I admire that in a women.
Even at her lowest point she manages to stand and help the closest stranger not feel alone.”

Emilee announced her devastating loss in an Instagram post on June 21, sharing an illustration of a weeping woman kneeling in front of a baby angel. Emilee, who also has a four-year-old daughter, Aaliyah Snow and one-year-old son, Gabriel Storm, held a funeral service for Jamal on June 23.

Sharing images to Instagram of the memorial service, Emilee wrote: “We were expecting a baby, but instead God gifted us with the most beautiful Guardian Angel.”

She continued: “Whilst we won’t be able to hold him in our arms, baby Jamal will be held in our hearts for the rest of our days. Our beautiful baby boy has been the light & the wake up call needed by us all. He has healed broken bonds, made us think about our lives, united family, made us question our own paths in life and brought us closer to our faith.”

Emilee finished by saying she was grateful to meet her precious boy.

“I’m thankful I got to meet my angel, even if it was for a moment. Rest In Peace Jamal Reign Ada.”
