Em Rata reveals she’d “do IVF in my late-30s to give Sly a sibling”
Doesn't sound like Harry Styles is The One...
Egg freezing is a hot topic among the celeb set with model Emily Ratajkowski (aka Em Rata) sharing her thoughts in a recent subscriber-only Q&A with her fans.
The 31yo actress has a 2yo son Sylvester ‘Sly’ with ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard and implied in the question and answer session that she wasn’t focused on a future with current squeeze 29yo global popstar Harry Styles.
“Is it cool to raise a baby without a father?” asked one fan, to which Em confessed that she’d thought a lot about freezing her eggs. “My last visit with a gaeno [sic], and she was like, ‘Ok, well, in about two or three years we’ll be talking about your eggs, you know, being frozen.”
The Gone Girl actress said that it hadn’t crossed her mind until then as her mum got pregnant at 38 with Em.
During the lengthy chat with her fans, Em said “That doesn’t mean I’m saying that’s the best way to do it or the only way to do it but I very much see that for my future – deciding to do IVF in my late-30s to give Sly a sibling.”

“I think I would definitely like to have more children – I love being a mom,” she continued. “I’m not sure I’m going to find somebody that I want to raise a child with.”
She goes on to talk about how when she was getting divorced “a very famous friend with many sisters” told her not to stress about already being a mum as it wouldn’t put guys off.
“And guess what? She was right,” continues Em. “I will say there are men who are more respectful of my family, which is me and Sly, and our relationship, and more cognisant of it than others. And that makes a huge difference for me.”
Em has been linked to various men since her divorce in September 2022 – Brat Pitt, Pete Davidson, Orazio Rispo and Eric Andre have all allegedly made the cut, with Harry Styles on deck, if their Japanese pash is anything to go by.
Aussie celeb Sophie Monk has also made the decision to freeze her eggs
Continuing on the topic of raising a child on her own, Em said “I want to be careful about how I say this because I think that having two people raise a child can be really important …
“…but I also just want to say that I know quite a few women who have done it on their own and they’ve done incredible jobs and they are fantastic mothers and they have wonderful kids, and I personally have really liked parenting on my own.”
“So I personally wouldn’t be afraid of getting pregnant and giving birth as a single woman.”
Covering questions from her curious fans, Em summarised the event by saying “We went from flirting to attachment styles, to choosing to do IVF and do parenting solo.”
