MAFS Liz Sobinoff normalises pregnancy depression: “I’m feeling quite crappy”
“Good days and not so good days”
Former Married At First Sight star, Elizabeth Sobinoff has opened up about her challenging pregnancy journey, saying she has “good days and not so good days”.
Four months after tying the knot with husband Alex Vega in January this year, the 32yo reality star announced she was expecting her first child.
In a recent Instagram post, Lizzie opened up to her followers about her mental health, saying some days she feels “crappy” and it’s a feeling we need to normalise.
“Good days and not so good days. 💙 you are allowed to ‘feel’.” We often talk about postpartum depression, but what about during the pregnancy?,” she captioned her post.
In the accompanying video footage of Lizzie playfully showing off her bump, she said: “When I took this I was feeling so good about myself. I was like, ‘Oh yes, mama’.”
She continued: “Today is not quite the same experience. I’m feeling quite crappy if I’m completely honest but let’s normalise that this is completely normal, being pregnant or not being pregnant.”
Lizzie finished by saying: “It’s not about being ungrateful for life it’s sometimes we feel really good and sometimes we don’t.”

It’s not the first time Lizzie has opened up about the ups and downs of her pregnancy. In May, shortly after confirming she was expecting her first child, she told her Instagram followers that she felt “like a failure”.
“I guess this is the reality of pregnancy as well that I had to call in sick to work and it’s like I’m just that exhausted,” she said tearfully.
“It’s just such an exciting time. It’s just really exhausting and I’m tired. You start feeling like a bit of a failure but I thought like this is a good thing to put on social media, the reality of a lot of stuff.”
Since rising to fame on Married At First Sight in 2019, Lizzie has been open about her health struggles. She was diagnosed with endometriosis, ovarian cysts and bowel adhesions in 2021 and has often hit back at negative comments about her weight loss.
Lizzie’s fans appreciate her honesty with many commenting on her most recent post and offering words of support.
“Look at what’s you’ve been through and how amazing you are,” wrote one follower. “All up for normalising what women go through when pregnant. Men don’t know the struggle ans body changes we have to go through 💛”
Added another: “So true mama 🤍 I think we all needed to hear this! 👏”
