Bluey’s house could be up for sale – but there’s a catch!

You'll need a far few dollar bucks to nab this little beauty!

The love for the world’s favourite blue heeler family climbed to new heights when a Bluey-themed house available on Airbnb in February 2022, and NOW, the owner wants to put it up for sale!

The Heeler family home was recreated in the real world, in Brisbane, and was listed as ‘Only on Airbnb’ themed experience.

While the BBC was involved in discussions with homeowner Emma Hoskin and Airbnb before the home was styled like the Heeler family residence – and plastered all over social media – the tv production company has now banned any promotion of the house in relation to Bluey.

The house caused a frenzy in Queensland, with thousands of families trooping by just to take a look at the iconic design, something that Airbnb was expecting, given that they had also themed a Sex and the City apartment in New York and a Home Alone home, too.

Hoskin, however, might not have been expecting the need for security and traffic police to control the crowds.

The plan was always to revert the home to its former glory after the once-in-a-lifetime stay for one lucky family, but the reputation among Bluey fans remains, which is a big problem for the BBC.

Hoskin wants to sell the house, but it will no longer like like the Heeler home, and company has asked her and Airbnb not to associate the house with the brand, but it’s a little too late for that…

“Like many parents with young children, I’ve been captivated by the adventures of Bluey and her family, which bring so much joy and quintessential Aussie humour to audiences across the globe,” Airbnb Australia and New Zealand Manager Susan Wheedon said at the time of launch.

“We’re delighted to add Bluey, Bingo, Chilli and Bandit to our growing community of Airbnb Hosts. And while we have some incredible homes on Airbnb, there will be nothing quite like waking up in the Heeler house and getting to live and breathe in Bluey’s magical world for one wondrous weekend.”

An Airbnb spokesperson said this week that all materials inside the home will be removed and donated to various establishments including Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Images of the home was posted to the Bluey Facebook page with the following description:

“On a quiet, leafy street in the heart of Brisbane, something magical has happened… the Heeler home from Bluey’s wonderful world has been recreated – for real life – and is now listed on Airbnb!

“If you live in Australia, you could be the family who nabs the exclusive two-night booking at the Heeler’s home. Head to the Airbnb listing to find all the details of the stay and how to book! Airbnb.com/Bluey”

Fans took to the Bluey Facebook post with plenty of questions, which were kindly answered by a Bluey spokesperson.

“Where can I get a chattermax like in the last photo?!? 🥺” wrote one follower, commenting on the chattermax in Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom.

“We worked with many local Brisbane and Australian-based artisans to bring Bluey’s world to life. Unfortunately these items aren’t available for fans to purchase, but keep an eye out as we may have some more surprises in store. 💙 🧡” wrote the official Bluey representative.
