“This is your sign to play Bluey for your dog.”

If you need further proof that everyone, including our dogs, are obsessed with Bluey, than this is it!

Videos featuring dogs tuning into watch our favourite Heeler family are trending on TikTok and the reason why has to do with their vision and the dominant colours used on the hit show.

You see, human eyes have three types of cones that can identify combinations of red, blue, and green while dogs possess only two types of cones and can only see shades of blue and yellow – this limited colour perception is called dichromatic vision.

This means, while humans can see a vivid array of colours, dogs can only see blue and yellow hues and, well, isn’t it handy that Bluey‘s main colour palette is blue and yellow?

Aside from being able to see the on-screen colours, the canine characters in the hit animated series – from Bluey and Bingo, to Muffin and Indy – may also resonate with dogs on a primal level, encouring them to remain glued to the screen.

“My dogs do in fact sit and watch Bluey and it’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” said one TikTok user.

Added another: “This is your sign to play Bluey for your dog. It has all the colours that they can see.”
