When it comes to preparing your baby’s nursery, you’ve probably planned the furniture, colour scheme and even where the toys will go. But have you thought about how you’re going to keep the room cool (and the air appropriately circulated)?

While this detail is often overlooked, it’s actually more important than you might think. We know it’s certainly not the most glamorous topic, but fans boast a huge number of health benefits for your little one.

In fact, a recent study by the National Library of Medicine found that using a fan in your baby’s room reduces the risk of SIDS by 72 per cent. The study discovered that when babies sleep in a cool room with a fan blowing on them, they’re less likely to overheat and die from SIDS.

Beyond the obvious health benefits, fans are also great for creating white noise to help drown out the outside world. So, they’ll be more comfortable, sleep longer, and in turn let their parents get some much needed rest of their own!
