Amy Schumer celebrates her son’s first birthday with a new photo and the most heartfelt message
There's just a little something in my eye.
And just like that, Amy Schumer’s son, Gene David Fischer is one.
The comedian took to Instagram to mark the milestone event. Sharing a gorgeous image of herself snuggling on the lounge with her son, Amy captioned the picture:
“I’m really glad it was you,” she wrote. “Hbd.”
And, well, I’m not crying, you are!
The comedian and her husband, Chris Fischer welcomed Gene 12 months ago, with the little one arriving hours before Megan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed baby, Archie.
Amy shared the baby news announcement to Instagram, with a hilarious caption: “10.55pm last night. Our royal baby was born.”
Amy revealed recently that she officially changed her son’s name and with good reason. In her Spotify podcast called Amy Schumer Presents: 3 Girls, 1 Keith, Amy said to her co-hosts:
“Do you guys know that Gene, our baby’s name, is officially changed? It’s now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realised that we, by accident, named our son ‘genital.’”
Gene’s middle name was initially chosen as a tribute to Amy’s best friend and comedian Dave Attell, who also starred in Trainwreck.
She spoke with Dave to decide on a new name and they agreed on David, which connects Gene to Dave and to her father, Gorden David Schumer. “So, two stones.” she said.
And there you have it, happy first birthday, Gene David Fischer!
