In a video shared to Instagram, the 51-year-old explained how he removed a wooden baby rattle from two-month-old Otto’s mouth.

“So I was reading that there was a recall on a particular baby rattle that is a choking hazard,” says Kyle in the video on The Kyle and Jackie O show’s Instagram page.

“I glanced down at my child and to my horror it was in his mouth so I snatched it away and saved his life.”

The rattle has been sold nationally online between February 10, 2022 and December 1, 2022.

The recall notice from Product Safety Australia said the product “does not comply with the size and shape requirements of the mandatory safety standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age”.

“The rattle may pose a choking or suffocation hazard for young children, which can lead to severe injury or death.”

Anyone who owns the rattle should stop using the rattle immediately.

Product Safety Australia added users should “destroy the product” and contact Gigil Gift Shop for a full refund.

“Consumers should provide a photograph to show the product has been destroyed,” Product Safety Australia said.

“If the product has already been disposed of, consumers should notify Gigil so that the safe disposal of the products can be monitored.”

Kyle and his fiancée Tegan Kynaston welcomed their first child, Otto on August 11.

Just two months after Otto was welcomed into the world, Kyle revealed on his radio talk show that the couple were already thinking of expanding their family.

“We did talk about another one, possibly we started talking about that on the weekend,” he said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIISFM.

However, Kyle seemed to be the voice of reason between the couple as he reminded Tegan that just because Otto was “easy” doesn’t mean the second child will be.
