“It’s heartbreak. It’s silence. It’s loss.”

Married at First Sight star Beck Zemek has shared the devastating news of losing her second child to a silent miscarriage in her second trimester.

In an emotional Instagram post, 31yo influencer, 31, opened up about her heartbreak.

“I can’t get my words and thoughts together, so I’ll just write them,” Beck began. “At a routine check-up, I experienced a silent miscarriage in my second trimester – a term I’d heard but never really thought about. After all, I didn’t know anyone who had gone through one, so I didn’t think it could be common. Little did I know statistics say 1 in 4 pregnancies can end this way. But when it’s your reality, it’s more than just a number. It’s heartbreak. It’s silence. It’s loss.”

Beck described the surreal moments that followed the devastating news. “The baby had stopped growing, but my body hadn’t realised yet. There were decisions to be made – decisions that no one prepares you for. Walking out of that room was one of the hardest things for me. I entered full of hope and left with a grief I could never anticipate feeling. It felt unfair, cruel, and so lonely.”

She spoke about the complex emotions that come with second-trimester loss, a topic she believes isn’t spoken about enough. “How do you mourn someone you never got to meet but already loved so deeply?” she wrote. “The hardest part is that your body still carries on. Your belly is still round, your hormones still remind you of pregnancy, and yet, you mentally have to come to terms that life has ended. I was caught in a limbo – no longer pregnant, but not ready to say goodbye.”

Through the heartbreak, Beck has found comfort in the deep love she had for her unborn baby and the unwavering support of those closest to her. “It’s a grief like no other, but what I’ve come to realise is that the love I felt for that tiny life is real, no matter how brief it was,” she shared.

Her decision to speak openly about her loss is driven by a desire to break the silence surrounding pregnancy loss. “I’m not sharing this for sympathy. I want to share this because women shouldn’t feel ashamed or like they have to suffer in silence. Loss is part of the journey for so many of us, and it’s okay to grieve, to cry, to celebrate, and to TALK!”

Beck concluded with a message for others experiencing similar pain: “If you’re going through this, know that your pain is valid, your loss is real, and you are not alone. Thanks to my close circle for getting me through this.”

The heartbreaking news comes just weeks after Beck and her fiancé, Ben Michell, hosted a baby shower surrounded by loved ones, including reality TV pals like MAFS co-star Booka Nile and My Kitchen Rules alum Hannah Campbell.

Since opening up about her loss, Beck has been met with an overwhelming wave of support. Former Bachelor star Alisha Aitken-Radburn shared, “I am so sorry. Sending you so much love.”

While a fan shared, “I’m sorry you and your family are having to suffer such a sad loss. I am so grateful that you’re talking about something so many women suffer through silently. Thank you for the strength you are displaying by being vulnerable to us all. No matter what, you will always be a mother of two. Even if you didn’t meet earth side, she will always have been your second girl.”

Beck first captured hearts on Married at First Sight in 2021 when she was unsuccesfully paired with Jake Edwards. The couple split after she cheated on him with her ex during filming.

She later found her happily ever after with Ben Michell, announcing their engagement earlier this year. The couple welcomed their daughter, Immy, in May 2022, and have been building their life together ever since.

Our hearts goes out to Beck and Ben during this incredibly difficult time.
