"Great support and comfort all round"

What started as ‘period’ underwear has evolved into brands popping up all over to support mums to feel more comfortable after the birth of their child/ren if they experience light bladder leakage, or erratic periods.

Modibodi has teamed up with PUMA and released leggings that concealed absorbent technology that fully replaces the need for disposable alternatives – so women and teens can stay active,

Made with recycled materials, they feature moisture-wicking fabrics and absorbent technology to naturally control odour and keep you fresh and comfortable.

Mum-of-four, Caryn tried out the brands’ new sports tights and while her teen daughter plans to put the bike shorts through their paces.

Great support and comfort all round

“The exercise pants offer great support and comfort all round. The fabric feels like real quality. This is super important to me when it comes to leggings as the feel has to be supportive (and hide all the dents and creases) however without being too hot and restrictive. These pants provide all the comfort and support to feel great.”

Seams add shape to the legs

“The pair that I received had lots of seaming and block patterns which I really liked. They add better shape to the legs, and overall form.”

Would love a side pocket!

“The only thing missing for me was a side pocket down the leg which I really like. This is super handy to keep your phone, or a small key when exercising.”

It’s a game changer to feel protected

“The best thing for me of course was the added protection against leakage – this is particularly helpful when I have my period, but also more generally when I exercise considering the effects of having given birth to 4 babies. It’s an absolute game changer to feel protected and assured of no leakage and mishaps. And I didn’t have to worry about any unnecessary embarrassment.”

The padding is just right

“The padding/protection is enough to feel like it’s doing its job, without being too thick and uncomfortable.”

Will give teen confidence to stay active

“My 14-year-old daughter was also very excited and enthusiastic about the pair that she received – the bike shorts. I know it will give her more confidence to be active and sporty even whilst she has her period, which is fantastic.”

Protection and trend

“The combination branding also made these pants feel even more ‘cool’ – knowing that you can bank on the superior protection of Modibodi, combined with the trendiness of the Puma brand. What a win!”

Sports pants and bike shorts help women and teens stay active when they have their period or if they experience LBL.

One out of two girls quit sport because of their period, according to a global survey conducted by Modibodi and PUMA, and to help more women and girls stay active, the two iconic brands have collabed again – this time to offer modern sports tights and cycling shorts with extra protection to women and teen girls.

As part of the Period Pep Talk campaign, PUMA and Modibodi launched their new activewear in October to help women and those who menstruate feel confident playing sport and staying active while menstruating. LBL is another reason women become less active once they’ve had children.

PUMA athelete Tiana Penitani said “I remember hitting puberty and finding it so hard to play on the field. The bulkiness of pads, the discomfort of tampons and the fear of leaking … made me feel really nervous to play.”
