Meet new Wiggle star Zoe Karatzolvalis: “Don’t EVER give up on your dreams”

“To say I’ve been a Yellow Wiggle feels unbelievable.”

At just 25, Zoe Karatzovalis has turned a childhood dream into a reality by joining the iconic Wiggles crew. Growing up watching The Wiggles, Zoe never imagined she’d one day be introduced on stage as “Zoe Wiggle” by Anthony Field, the OG Blue Wiggle himself.

“Anthony introduced me as Zoe Wiggle, and I got to go out onto the stage, and everyone was just waving to me, like, ‘Oh, Zoe, Zoe’ – that is just something I’ve always dreamed of.”

Zoe’s journey started over a year ago when she auditioned alongside 160 others. She initially joined the team working behind the scenes, performing in character suits as Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, and Henry the Octopus.

In December 2024, and Zoe officially stepped into the spotlight as a Yellow Wiggle, cementing her place in Wiggles history.

More Wiggles, more fun!

In 2022, the Wiggles expanded from four to eight cast members, doubling the fun with a lineup that includes Lachy, Simon, Anthony, Tsehay, Caterina, Evie, John, and Lucia. With four male and four female performers, the group is committed to gender balance, ensuring kids everywhere see themselves reflected on screen.

For Zoe, the experience has been nothing short of surreal. “To say I’ve been a Yellow Wiggle feels unbelievable,” she said.

Inspiring the next generation

Recently, Zoe returned to her hometown,  Port Lincoln, on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, to speak to the graduating class of 2024. Reflecting on her journey, she encouraged students to embrace the twists and turns of life.

“Everything that you’re doing right now will lead you to where you want to be, even if you think you’re taking 20 billion detours on your journey, it’s going to lead you to exactly where you want to be,” she said.

“It might take years, might take months, it might take days, but just trust the process, the universe is working in your favour.”

From performing in costume to becoming a beloved Wiggle, Zoe’s journey is proof that dreams really do come true. Announcing her debut on Instagram, she wrote:

“Speechless… screaming… crying… all of the above! Today was everything I’ve ever dreamed of – exhilarating, nerve-wracking, and absolutely beautiful all at once.”
