Coronavirus: All of the ways your favourite celeb families are dealing with self-isolation
We're all in this together!
The world is a different place right now. In a matter of weeks our lives were flipped on their heads as the coronavirus pandemic forced us all indoors into self-isolation and lock-downs while the medical experts and governments of the world work tirelessly to try to flatten the curve of the COVID-9 spread to protect our most vulnerable.
Regular-folk and famous-folk alike have been bunkering with their loved ones, waiting it out (and rationing toilet paper) while the world waits for more news to come to light.
Fortunately this has happened in the digital age, which means that while we all might be apart, we’re still in this together, able to connect with family, friends and even our favourite celebrities.
Proving that they are really just the same as us, are these fun celebs who are sharing their lives in lockdown with us via social media …

Them fresh makeover feels!
Radio Host, Fifi Box was the recipient of a pretty unique makeover during isolation.
Fifi’s daughter, 7yo Trixie displayed some dramatic makeup skills on her adoring mum’s face, and the mum-of-two shared the finished product with her 300k+ Instagram followers.
With a face smeared in lipstick, eyeliner and brow pencil, Fifi grinned at the camera in a selfie with the make-up artist herself, captioning the image: “Just had a makeover in iso, Trixie is on point with lipstick application 👍”
The former Neighbours alum was also wearing one of her good pal, Carrie Bickmore’s charity beanies. Fifi has long been a supporter of Carrie’s charity, which sells gorgeous beanies to raise funds for brain cancer research.
“It’s time to put an end to brain cancer!,” Fifi has said. “These gorgeous @carriesb4bc beanies are on sale July 14 online www.carriesbeanies4braincancer.com 🙏💕 So proud of @bickmorecarrie never giving up 💕”
Gwyneth Paltrow gives her son, Moses a ‘boobs’ puzzle
In a new post on her wellness website, Goop, the 47-year-old actress has revealed how her family had been keeping coping during COVID-19 lockdown in the US.
“I’ve reset my course a bit to embrace this new normal, and after three and a half months, I’ve found hacks that make WFH a little less taxing, tips for combating recipe fatigue, ways to move my body and quiet my mind and make sheltering in place feel like a holiday without ever stepping foot on a plane,” she wrote.
As for “staying in,” Gwyneth says the family has been playing board games and she even bought her son, Moses, 14 a cheeky jigsaw puzzle to keep him occupied.
“There’s been a lot of Trivial Pursuit happening at the house. And I got Moses the boob puzzle just for fun,” she wrote.
Gwyneth shares Moses and daughter Apple, 16 with ex-husband Chris Martin.
Gwyneth is now married to director, Brad Falchuk.
In February this year, the Iron Man actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and spoke about raising her kids in the spotlight.
“I think it must be pretty surreal for them to be the kids of somebody — well, both of their parents are in the public eye,” she said.
“It’s interesting to watch them sort of evolve along with our careers as they go.”
“Actually, my son said to me the other day, he was like, ‘At first I thought it was really embarrassing that there were vibrators on your website and now I think it’s a great thing!’” she laughed.
“He’s like, ‘You’re a feminist, Mum. You’re a badass’.”
“I was like, ‘Thank you!’”
Designed by Jiggy and illustrated by artist Julia Heffernan, the 450-piece Boobs puzzle features watercolour drawings of female breasts.
And the puzzle is certainly one way to keep your teenage son focussed on something other than computer games!
Shaun Hampson and Megan Gale’s daughter, Rosie has a new night time routine and it’s adorable!
Engaged lovers, AFL star, Shaun Hampson and Model Megan Gale sure did make adorable children.
The pair are parents to six-year-old River and two-year-old, Rosie and it’s Rosie’s new night time routine during isolation that is giving us all the feels.
Mum, Megan shared a video (below) of Daddy Shaun and little Rosie in the bath together while Rosie gently scrubbed Shaun’s beard with bubbles.
“This is fast becoming the new nightly routine – Rosie washing her Daddy’s beard,” Megan captioned the post. “These two make my heart melt ♥️✨🌙⠀~ Megan xx ⠀

The entrepreneurial pair also took to Instagram on Thursday to share the news that their Melbourne café will be re-opening.
Ascot Food + Wine was forced to close it’s doors two and a half months ago due to restrictions placed on restaurants amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“We ended up closing our doors like a lot of cafés, but as of tomorrow…” Megan announced.
“… We’re reopening!” Shaun interrupted, before adding: “We are looking forward to getting back to it.”
Jennifer Garner:
Actress Jennifer Garner, 48 is officially our new home isolation muse.
In a hilarious video posted to Instagram, Jen can be seen living her best quarantine life in her massive laundry room.
Set to the famous TikTok-song, Think About Things, is literally every single one of us right now.
We see her surrounded by piles of laundry, wearing face masks, looking completely and utterly bored, wrangling her cat and drinking red wine in her pyjamas. Hail Jen, our Quaranqueen!
“I don’t know why I thought you needed this,” she captioned the clip.
We don’t know either, but boy, did we need it!
Watch the hilarious clip below.
Turia Pitt:
Turia Pitt might be enjoying the iso baby-bubble, but she’s also ready for things to get back to normal.
Turia Pitt has given a candid interview with the gals from the Shameless Podcast and was quick to acknowledge that while she was enjoying the down-time of isolation, she knows it’s not the same for everyone.
“This period has actually been good for me,” the 32-year-old mum of two admitted. “I’m acknowledging that it hasn’t been good for everyone, I know people have lost their jobs and people all over the world are facing some really harsh circumstances at the moment but it’s been good for me.”
And part of the reason she’s enjoying the downtime so much, is that the pandemic has coincided with her becoming a mum for the second time to sweet baby boy, Rahiti.
“I’ve got a new baby and I’ve been forced to just take a step back and slow things down. I can’t travel, I can’t give speeches, I can’t do a lot of the things that I was working with my partners. All those things aren’t an option right now, so in a way it’s been good for to have this forced time out.”
But it’s not all roses, Turia is keen for things to return to normal too in her life in coastal town, Mollymook too.
“I really miss my girlfriends,” she confessed. “My girlfriends down here all have kids and we catch up for coffees and play dates and stuff.
“I really miss spending time with them. I’ve got a toddler, so looking after a toddler and a new baby when you’re not supposed to go anywhere but home is quite full on at times so while I’m enjoying the little nest that we’ve got at home and spending time with my family, at the same time it will be good when everything is over so we can resume a normal life!”
Carrie Bickmore:
Carrie has eloquently expressed the range of emotions we’re all experiencing during this challenging time.
Alongside a delightful video of her son, Ollie and daughter, Adelaide zooming around the living room on an office chair, Carrie told fans about the beautiful moments she’s having along with the tough ones.
“Well… parenting through the corona crisis is proving to be a roller coaster ride!” she writes.
“It’s like doing normal life but without all the scaffolding. No routine, no school, no weekly activities, no extended family, no friends, no familiar faces, no distractions and not many breaks to catch our breath.
“There are moments that make your heart sing, beautiful moments that we wouldn’t normally get, and moments that are incredibly tough.
“So much uncertainty and stress and sometimes you just wanna cry or hide in a cupboard for 5 mins peace.
“No two lives are the same, everyone has different challenges at the moment and is being tested in different ways, but there is so much compassion and care going around. We all need to be kind to each other and to ourselves as well. To all our health workers putting their lives and their families lives at risk for all of us. Thank you ❤️”
Jules Sebastian:
Jules Sebastian has shared an appreciation post to teachers.
Homeschooling her and Guy Sebastian’s two boys, Hudson and Archer during isolation has got Jules feeling all of the gratitude.
Alongside an image of a table set up with the art supplies, the charity ambassador wrote: “Art class! When we all get through this (which we will!) I will begin by bowing down in awe of every teacher I know and meet.
“Heaven sent angel humans, we are hugely grateful for all you do and impart into our kids! #thankyou”
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend:
If there’s a family we’d love to be in isolation with, it’s these guys!
Music, cute kids, incredible food and Chrissy firing humour bombs day and night!
Both Chrissy and John have shared the same image of them with little Luna and Miles snuggled up on the lounge during iso.
John captioned the image: “Board meeting”
While Chrissy simply penned: “dysfunction junction”
Em Rusciano and family
In true Em style, she’s bringing the giggles to the situation.
“Day one of home schooling going well, the teacher is drinking gin in the classroom, has dropped the f bomb twice and isn’t wearing pants.”
Em Rusciano and family
In more true Em style she’s also getting real about what isolation with a long-term partner looks like.
“Self iso long term marriage realness. Noise cancelling headphones, separate screens, backs to each other.”
Nicole Kidman and family
Like many of us, Nicole is making the most of technology to stay connected to family near and far.
“My sis and I FaceTiming… miss my family in Australia so much. As I’m sure many people are missing their families right now ❤️ #InItTogether”
Nicole Kidman and family
Twice now, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have delighted fans when they live-streamed surprise gigs from their Nashville warehouse as Keith performed some of his hit songs.
“Just loved getting to sing and dance with you all!”
Kim Kardashian-West and Family
Like most of us, mum-of-four Kim has been looking for inspiration on how best to fill up the day while at home with the kids.
“What is everyone doing to keep your kids entertained??? As a family we are social distancing but need some fun ideas of what to do!”
Awkwardly, what Kim got instead of family suggestions was a whole heap of snark from Taylor Swift fans instead. Seems like the beef over the famous Kanye phone call incident is not going away any time soon!
Fifi Box and family
Mum-of-two, Fifi Box shared an adorable image of her delicious bub, Daisy Belle alongside a caption that we feel in our souls.
“Temporary crèche in the bathroom so I can have a five minute shower 🚿 (look at that sad empty toilet roll 😢)”
Bec Douros and family
The former Block star and soon to be mum-of-three get REAL real about isolation.
“Self isolation =
1. working out how many ways you can lay on a couch
2. No bras
3. Naked kids or kids in full costume. Even the unborn child
4. Realising just how much your dog farts and regretting that extremely large bag of food you bought her
5. Eating through all the snacks you have purchased that are meant to last weeks
6. Being able to shower when ever you want, but not because you can’t be bothered walking up the stairs
7. Regretting building a house with stairs
8. Running through all the things you will NOT be doing on the weekend”
The Beckham family
As usual, David Beckham is nailing #DadGoals.
The Beckham family
Embracing the new normal, Victoria Beckham is all about offering encouragement to help the rest of us get through.
“#TeamVB is WFH. And for those of us with kids we are also all working around a classroom schedule 🥴 Keep smiling! For as long as this is our new normal we will make it positive x (All technology accepted!!!!!) xxxx VB”
Laura Byrne and family
New mum Laura shared some strong messaging with her 250k+ fans.
“Stay inside guys, this self isolating thing is no funny business.”
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard
Hollywood’s best (IMO) couple ever, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard and bunkering down and lathering up.
“Nothing better to do but celebrate #dryhumpday with some moisture masks, couples style. Xo”
Sylvia Jeffreys
In a heartwarming message to her 245,000 Instagram followers, Sylvia reached out to new mothers who might be feeling disconnected due to mothers groups and social gatherings being cancelled amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
“While it’s a good time to be living in a little 💓 bubble with nowhere to go, I’m conscious of the confusion and anxiety that many new mums might be feeling right now,” Sylvia wrote, alongside a beautiful selfie alongside her baby boy, Oscar.
“Mother’s groups – a social lifeline for many – have been cancelled, libraries closed, cafes are being avoided. So I just wanted to send some love and virtual hugs to other mamas out there who might be feeling extra isolated. Drop a comment below if you want to connect, chat about reflux, LOL about 💩namis, recommend some bingeworthy series, or share your sleep secrets. Let’s chat and be kind and stay connected. Big love, from us 💓 #togetherathome.”
Sylvia’s beautiful message struck an emotional chord with mums and it was flooded with comments thanking Sylvia for her kind words. Followers were also quick to share their own personal motherhood stories and isolation tips.
