Amy Schumer goes for IVF egg retrieval and makes us laugh without even trying to be funny
The star posted videos showing she was still woozy from the procedure.
Last week, Amy Schumer publicly shared the news that she is currently undergoing IVF, to give her adorable son Gene a sibling.
Since the initial post, Amy received an outpouring of support from her fans and has continued to give regular updates to her Instagram followers.
The 38-year-old I Feel Pretty star posted a photo of herself in a medical examination room and wrote, “We are gonna freeze embryos soon.”
Amy also thanked fans for their kind words of support and shared some of the tips she received for looking after herself during the round of IVF.
“I learned to eat salty food after and drink Gatorade. Ice the area. Take arnica and put arnica on the bruises. To be patient and kind to myself and that there are sooooo many of us willing to be there for each other. Your stories helped me more than you can imagine. I feel incredibly lucky.”
She also said she’s “really hoping this works and is staying positive.”
On Monday morning, the comedian said it was “retrieval” day and she went on to share two videos of herself which appear to have been filmed straight after the procedure while Amy was still under the influence of the anaesthesia.
In the first video (see above), Amy woozily asked her husband, Chris Fischer if she’s still wearing her hat and if he could put it back on.
In the second clip, she spoke about the best day ever.
The video was captioned, ‘Let me be your life coach.’
‘We can sit at the bar, get a couple of drinks,’ she said while lying down with her eyes closed.
‘We just had a blast today!’
The Trainwreck actress, who openly shared her pregnancy battle with hyperemesis gravidarum via social media with fans has been honest from the very beginning about the highs and lows of motherhood.
The IVF journey is a familiar one to so many couples, and so for Amy to document and share her experience and put a spotlight on exactly what’s involved in the emotional and physically draining process is to be applauded.
