Chrissy Teigen shares explicit birth photo to disprove fake pregnancy claims
It's not the first time the mum-of-three has defended herself against trolls
Chrissy Teigen is used to being the target of keyboard warriors on socials and the latest attack comes in the form of a ‘fan’ saying that her daughter Esti was born by surrogate and that her baby bump was fake.
The mum-of-three shared a gorgeous image of her third child, who was born in January 2023, on which a follower commented: “So cute! Who was the surrogate?”
Another fan then claimed that Chrissy was wearing a fake bump – a “moonbump” – throughout her fourth pregnancy.
“The truth is Chrissy was born male,” they added. “During her ‘pregnancy’ they used something called a moonbump … I’m a huge fan of Chrissy by the way”…
Practised at defending herself against ‘fans’, the wife of singer John Legend reshared the comments to her to Instagram stories with the caption: “Obsessed with this comment”.
After being trolled by a ‘fan’, amused mum-of-three, Chrissy Teigen shared a photo of Esti’s belly birth with the caption: Extremely realistic “moon bump”.
Chrissy seemed to take it all in her stride, perhaps because it’s not the first time she has been the target of this kind of gossip. In the past the model-author-cook-tv host laughed off attacks about women not taking their husband’s name after marriage.
Her tweet was classic Chrissy – “My husband didn’t even take his own surname!” Legend’s real surname is Stevens.
The model mum has also been shamed for feeding her kids berries. She takes it all in her stride!
The couple have long teased and trolled each other, in the same way as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds do. Chrissy has dragged her husband for his dad dancing by shaking her head at the camera when he was caught getting his groove on
Soon after their wedding in 2013, she smashed his fashion sense alongside an old photo of him in a white pleather coat: “Simultaneously unpacking and filing for divorce” she wrote.
Chrissy stayed home with baby Esti rather than attend the Grammys.
The cookbook author also called out the double standards after the birth of their son Miles, in 2018. While Legend acted as a judge on the US version of The Voice, Chrissy tweeted: “Wow didn’t u just have a baby John smh go take care of it !!!!! disgusting”.
For the 2023 Grammy Awards, soon after the birth of Esti, Chrissy chose to stay home with her bub rather than slay on the red carpet in her usual style.
Bethenny Frankel commented: “Not today!” while Emmy Award winning costume designer, Soyon An cheered: “YES MAMA!! Always keeping it real! ❤️”
Australia’s real estate megastar, Dleanne Lewis, a new mum herself, was grateful for Chrissy’s authenticity, writing: “Love that you did that. So authentic. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Mandy Moore showed her support with a simple line of five red heart emojis and American reality TV star, Jamie Otis Hehner stated: “The award is already in your arms ❤️❤️❤️”
Ashley Everett who summed it up perfectly with “You’re right where you need to be 💞”

In 2020, at the age of 34, Chrissy revealed the heart-wrenching news that she had lost her son Jack, at 20 weeks’ gestation. Chrissy suffered a partial placental abruption and numerous blood transfusions did not help.
“My mom, John and I each held him and said our own private goodbyes, mom sobbing through Thai prayer,” the grieving mum wrote. “I asked the nurses to show me his hands and feet and I kissed them over and over and over again. I have no idea when I stopped. It could have been 10 minutes or an hour.”
