We’re big fans of Disney and so when Big W dropped a new Disney-inspired collection of baby essentials to celebrate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary, we were in love.

The super adorable range features beloved Disney characters, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, along with fan-favourite characters like Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo and Simba. From clothing and toys to nursery items, the gorgeous pieces come in on budget, with some buys as low as $10.

Money-saving tips for parents from a financial expert

To further help Aussie families find real value, BIG W has partnered with Money Educator, Vanessa Stoykov, to share top money-saving tips for new and expecting parents.

1. Quality doesn’t have to be expensive

Don’t be fooled into thinking that more expensive equals better value when it comes to shopping for your new baby. Find good value products that are practical and do the job.

2. Buy in bulk and size up

Sometimes buying things in bulk not only takes the pressure off future you, but saves you money too. Don’t forget, kids grow, and fast! Buying clothes in a size up can also be the way to go.

3. Have conversations about gifts

It can feel a little bit awkward putting in gift requests to friends and family, but they would much rather contribute with something that is actually helpful and useful. Consider asking for practical items and essentials in the early days, BIG W has a brilliant baby checklist on its website, with all the essentials you need for inspiration.

4. Find freebies!

Whether that be those provided to you by the government or other organisations, make sure you do your research. There are so many parental benefits out there to financially help and empower you through your family journey.
